a Tribute to Leonardo... The Legend Continues...

Leonardo as Milan's Asistant Vice President

Leo's Final Season Adriano Galliani and Leonardo have just ended with their press conference at AC Milan headquarters in via Turati. The Brazilian player has announced his retirement from football: the decision is definite. The Rossonero vice president and chief executive has announced that Leonardo Nascimento de Araujo becomes from today onwards Vice-President Assistant. His main tasks will be the Milan Foundation and the relationship between the club and the team

Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani makes clear Leonardo's new role in the club: 'Yesterday, on March 31, Leonardo ended his career as a player at Milan. From today onwards he starts a new adventure with a new contract. He will be the vice-president's assistant. Any other position at the club will be affected and everyone will go on with his tasks and responsibilities as usual. Leo will work at every operating level.'

Here are the first words Leonardo says after being appointed vice president assistant: 'It's a definite choice. I've decided to stop my football career before the end of the season because I have so many things to do off the pitch that it becomes impossible to combine training with all the other commitments. I'm happy to have finished my career wearing the Milan shirt at the San Siro (last appearance on December 22 against Brescia). I've decided I want to live in Milan and work for a club who has renewed day by day their respect and love towards me.'

I still don't know what I feel right now... but I sure do miss your magic pass in the field, those left foot freekicks... the 98-99 season that always be the most memorable moment... *sigh*... I remember that I once wished that you'd stay forever in Milan... I guess this is it... though you're not playing anymore... Forza Leo...
