Depeche Mode - One Night in Paris Depeche Mode - One Night in Paris

Despite their 20-plus years in the music business, One Night in Paris demonstrates that Depeche Mode are by no means dinosaurs of synth-infused rock. Directed by longtime artistic collaborator Anton Corbijn (Umm.. Inget Live Concert-nya U2 yang Achtung Baby ? Nahh.. dia juga tuh yang dokumentasiin). The concert footage concisely captures the atmosphere of the show that was seen by over 1.5 million fans in 2001. Though there is an obsessive focus on the half-naked Dave Gahan.. Hahahaha.. (^^)v and the 'fallen angel' Martin Gore throughout, at various points the camera withdraws to expose a huge screen at the back of the stage. Combined with the angry stage lighting, the projection films (which include footage of a goldfish and a shark swimming in a tank for 'In Your Room') provide an added epic feel.

Disc 1 features the full two-hour "Exciter" show :
Dream On (Guitar Intro), The Dead of Night, The Sweetest Condition, Halo, Walking in My Shoes, Dream On, When the Body Speaks, Waiting for the Night, It Doesn't Matter Two, Breathe, Freelove, Enjoy the Silence, I Feel You, In Your Room, It's No Good, Personal Jesus, Home, Condemnation, Black Celebration, Never Let Me Down Again

Disc 2 features extra bonus visuals, including :
- The Preparing : an 8-minute documentary about the show including an interview with Anton Corbijn, original set drawings, and footage of the set being built
- The Photographing : An Anton Corbijn stills gallery with audio commentary from Anton
- The Waiting : A short film of Paris fans talking about Depeche Mode
- The Talking : Band interviews conducted before the show
- The Screening : Five concert projection films with audio

- The Choosing : Never Let Me Down Again (take control of three different camera angles)

The Police - Every Breath You Take The DVD The Police - Every Breath You Take The DVD

Whilst the release of Every Breath You Take - The DVD sees a long overdue release of fourteen of The Police's videos in the DVD format, it is the bonus material that has been included which undoubtedly forms one of the main attractions of this release. Chief amongst this material is the full 47 minute documentary "Police in Montserrat". This BBC documentary was only shown on UK television a couple of times back in the 1980's.. indeed it's first showing almost pre-dates home video recorders ! and to the best of our knowledge has had very few broadcasts elsewhere in the world. To make this release even more interesting this version includes several clips that did not make one of the previous broadcasts. These take the form of an extended intro, and additional footage of all three band members being interviewed.

Videos : Roxanne, Can't Stand Losing You, Message in a Bottle, Walking on the Moon, Don't Stand So Close To Me, De Do Do Do De Da Da Da, Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic, Invisible Sun, Spirits in the Material World, Every Breath You Take, Wrapped Around Your Finger, Synchronicity II, Don't Stand So Close to Me '86

Two performances from the BBC TV show The Old Grey Whistle : Can't Stand Losing You, Next to You

Promo Clip : "Studies in Synchronicity" album promo clip

The Police in Montserrat : 45-minute documentary of the band recording Ghost in the Machine, including four songs performed in Montserrat: Demolition Man, One World (Not Three), Spirits in the Material World, Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic

Bela Fleck & The Flecktones - Live at The Quick Bela Fleck & The Flecktones - Live at The Quick

Bela Fleck is one of the most effortless banjo players I have ever seen. He is able to use those skills to fuse together an amalgamut of sounds into over an hour of interesting and unbelieveable music. Victor Wooten proves time and time again that he is the worlds' greatest bassist.. Jeff Coffin is just amazing. Have you ever seen a man wail on a clarinet? I haven't, and I never thought it was possible before Jeff came along..

The guest appearances are all outstanding as well.. A basoon player with some snazzy electric effects, Congar ol' Ondar doing his famous Tuvan throat singing.. and not forgetting the Steel pans player.. All these sounds blend together into what is most definitely the most spectacular audiovisual experience I've had the pleasure of enjoying in years..

All the concerts were very well captured by the cameras, using great features such as 2 or 3 pictures at once. And we could see Future Man's awesome drumitar.. (ini maen drum apa maen gitar ? hahahaha.. edann.. edann..) which seemed like some sort of art project gone wrong.. (^^) (dia ini termasuk wooten bersaudara.. dan sama gilanya dengan sodara2nya.. edann..) All the songs on the CD were on the DVD, and some extras. Some of the songs were longer with better solos. There was great interaction between all the normal Flecktones, and the guest artists. Congar ol'Ondar was great (^^); Hahahaha... Another awesome part of the DVD is the interludes between each song describing what they did to put it together. Also, they had bios about each of the Flecktones members, and the guest artists...

A special note to all the Flecktones fans that don't know whether to buy the DVD in addition to the CD, there is a special unreleased track in the special features as an added incentive.

So, as being the first Flecktones DVD, I have nothing to compare it to. In comparison with the CD, its much better. All the added features and songs in addition to a picture instead of just sound makes it absolutely fabulous. I think that whether you have Live at the Quick on CD or not, you ought to buy this no matter what.. I guess is a must !!!
