When you get a new piece of Musical Gear... Be it hardware, software, rack-mount, stomp box, and so on... Put away the instructions aside from the set-up and throw the troubleshoot guide into the trash... Accidents and ignorance creates beautiful mistakes... (Jaco Pastorius : 1951 - 1987)

the last one in schedule..

hemhhh..
still a bit in awe from the last three concert..

anyway, since ToTo could be the last one before i pack all things up and move..
so, there i was sat down outside the royal albert hall at 17.20 despite the concert actually started at 19.30 hehehehe..
but, i've got to leave the r.a.h to pick up a friend at a tube station nearby and finally arrived again just in time as the opening act just begin to sang their first song..

well, after 10 years of waiting..
the fact that i always fail to see toto live in concert eventhough they went three times to jakarta, makes me really hard to wipe away the smile on my face since i arrived in london..
3 songs sang by the opening act really made me keep on looking at my watch again & again.. i swear that this is the first time that i really wish that the opening act is finishing their set soon :) well, atleast i do enjoy when they sang Here I Go Again from whitesnake..

and finally.. soon after they finished their set..

gosh! finally!
here they come and really blow me all away...
Only The Children was the opening song, the fact that ToTo is not out there to promote a new album on this summer tour probably means one thing: a total freedom in picking songs for the set list and here lies also the biggest change since last tour obviously.. only 5 songs remains from the previous '25 years' concert set list (Hold The Line, Girl Goodbye, White Sister, Rosanna and Africa)

of course i missed songs like Georgy Porgy, Stop Loving You, I Won't Hold You Back and Child's Anthem to name but a few.. but as long as ToTo's catalogue of songs is as strong as it is, it doesn´t really matter in the end.. if you were to take the best from the previous tour and mix it with the best from this one, i'm sure you would have had THE most perfect set list ever performed on planet earth!

oops, did i mention that david paich were not in the lineup? well, he had to stay home because his wife is not in a very good health condition right now.. hope she'll be fine soon.. anyway, greg phillinganes was playing the keyboard.. filling dave's shoes in my opinion was not an easy task to do.. anyway, greg did a great job standing in for dave, and he sang Africa flawlessly..

and this might sound overrated as im the biggest fan of mike porcaro, but surely he is the perfect engine of ToTo! he's the glue to put all the rhythm section in tact and make a deep sounded basline as well as the couple of 'stolen' melodic lines! i just cant keep my eyes to the right hand side where he stood and played the bass.. i reckon that he plays peavey bass now.. hemmhh, what happened with the tobias and musicman that he used to play? he changed his bass couple of time but its still that peavey cirrus, just in different tuning..

then simon phillips did the drum solo, i heard that his folks were watching in the audience seat.. and luke´s two solos this night will be hard for anyone, well.. including himself to top :) these guys can play the ass off anyone..

anyway, here are the song from the setlist..

Only The Children
Pamela
Africa
Girl Goodbye
Piano Solo + 99
Gypsy Train
I'll Be Over You
Rosanna
Good For You
Drum Solo
I Will Remember
Better World
Acoustic Guitar Solo + The Road Goes On
Medley: Angel Don't Cry/Carmen/Dave's Gone Skiing/These Chains/Mushanga

Hold The Line
White Sister
